Any residents or newcomers to the Cowichan Valley who play string instruments are welcome to come join our Cowichan Consort Orchestra at Sylvan United Church in Mill Bay, Monday nights from 7:30pm  until 9:30pm. First rehearsal of the orchestra this fall session 2024 -2025 our 33rd Season is planned for Monday Sept 9, 2024.  Our Resident Conductor is Pippa Williams. Come join the orchestra strings. (for younger students-playing at a Grade 7-8 or higher Conservatory level brings most enjoyment)

Wind chairs become open only when available. As of June 2024  : 2 trombone chairs,  & 2nd oboe,  are open. Strings are welcome especially violins and violas. Playing at a gr 7-8 cons. level or higher is preferred. An extra French horn player  and 3rd trumpet sometimes are needed.

Wearing masks are optional.  Seating will be spaced apart. Health protocols will be followed as noted for/on Sept 2024.

Our choir meets Wednesdays from 7:00pm -9pm  at Sylvan United Church. All are welcome to sing with us. No audition is required. Choir’s first rehearsal – of our 33rd Season will start on Sept 11th, 2024.  Car pooling can be arranged. Men’s voices especially wanted.  Come join us and Sing!    Ryan Qu is our new Rehearsal Choir Director prepping the choir and working with our Resident Conductor.
